That's right! Recently flipping through a W magazine, I read up on an article about the fabulous Stacy Engman. In the article, there was talk of a traveling museum exhibiton of tarot cards created by 78 top artists and designers such as Christian Louboutin, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood,  Tracy Emin, Raymond Pettibon, Cathrine Opie, and Nick Knight called Contemporary Magic: A Tarot Deck Project. Immediately being me, I jumped on google to read all about it because it is no secret I am a geek for this kind of stuff. Throw in a few designers and artists and it's a dream! Purchase the 5"x 7.5" tarot cards on the KLUP Foundation website for $200 USD.

The art exhibition was curated by Stacy Engman who asked the artists and designers to submit pieces for the traveling exhibit. The KLUP Foundation made the exhibit possible.

The traveling exhibit will be at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art from May 30-August 18, 2013.
Sigh. If only it was coming to the Sun City...

Now Loving: Dolce & Gabanna Sicilian Baroque Collection

The new Sicilian Baroque collection celebrates endless curling roses and flourishes. Luxurious details embellish every design. Every beautiful, decorative style in this collection comes with a special velvet case. Black frame with grey, gradient lenses.

OMG. I'm not usually a sunglasses junkie, for me the cheaper the better. After all, I do throw them around in my car every day (especially when I forget I have them on and have to go put them back in the car). I have to say, I am in LOVE with this collection. The delicate baroque style details keep the theme of the Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2013 runway show. The Sicilian Baroque collection features gradient lenses on brown and black frames. Each pair of sunglasses comes in a super luxurious red velvet case.

During a shopping day this past week I stopped into Sunglass Hut, where they are exclusive, and they immediately caught my attention. I think I even pushed the sales associate out of the way! Just kidding - but I did go into a full force sprint to them...

The Sicilian Baroque collection is available at Sunglass Hut stores.
From the pairs displayed on the Sunglass Hut website, prices range from $265 to $760 USD
We're usually not ones to splurge on sunglasses, but I think this is going to be one beautiful exception!

The Best Of Cannes 2013

Two days ago was the closing ceremony of the Cannes Festival in Cannes, France. With The Great Gatsby opening the festival and Blue Is The Warmest Colour winning the highest award the Palme d'Or, along with great films came glamorous fashion. This year on the red carpet I noticed a few trends: metallics and Versace - a lot of Versace.

Here is a few of Cannes 2013's best dressed!

A Good Start.

Wow, what a great feeling to finally start up this blog. I've been thinking about it for quite a while, and thinking about what my first post would be just as long. (yeah right - more like googling "How to write your first blog post"!) This introduction is much easier than I expected. After all, first impressions are everything!

It's been a long road here. I began with stalking every popular fashion blogger out there, both street style and personal style blogs. Which brought discovering amazing and talented designers, which then led me into watching every single show during all Fashion Weeks - from New York to Paris and every location in between. From the glorious Dolce & Gabanna Spring/Summer 2007 to the questionable Saint Laurent Paris Fall/Winter 2013. Good or bad, I'm into it all. After a while just watching got a bit boring, so I took myself on Tumblr and joined the rest of the fashion population reblogging looks from shows and posting my rants and raves. The street style blogs were great, I gained so much inspiration from them but it was missing one thing - a local feel.

My beautiful city of El Paso has an abundance of everything. With a population of almost reaching a million, that's pretty easy to guess. Delicious food, gorgeous scenery, historic buildings, and great style. Adorable boutiques and shops from eastside to westside, and people with just as great fashion and style. They are truly hidden gems in the city, and its time for a bright spotlight to bring them all to attention. With the extremely fast growing population of El Paso, Las Cruces, and Fort Bliss people's diverse styles will be growing with it. For all my newbies trying to figure out their personal style to my crazed fashion addicts like myself, I'm hoping to start a great community for all.

Cheers to a great and hopeful beginning!
xx
